Tabana Server Guide

Setup:
1. Download your server client: Tabana Talk (1) / Tabana Telephone (2)
2. Launch the client and fetch the given IP
3. Download Playit.gg and create an account

Start by downloading the server client software that corresponds to the type of communication you want to host. Tabana Talk is used for standard chat sessions, while Tabana Telephone handles voice calls. Make sure you download the version provided by the official sources to ensure security and compatibility.

After installing the client, open it and locate the IP address assigned to your server. This is the address that your agents or other clients will connect to. Keep this IP handy — you’ll need it to configure tunneling and connections in later steps.

Playit.gg is a service that allows you to host your server behind NAT or firewalls, making it accessible over the internet. Download the application, create an account, and log in. This account will manage your tunnels and connections, ensuring your server remains reachable.

4. Launch Playit.gg and run the provided URL
5. Once your agent is created, add a tunnel and select TCP
6. Set port count to 1

Open the Playit.gg application and paste or run the URL you were given. This will link your server client to Playit.gg, enabling secure external access without needing to modify your router or firewall settings manually.

After your agent appears in Playit.gg, add a new tunnel. For most Tabana services, TCP is the correct protocol because it ensures reliable, ordered delivery of messages and calls. UDP could work for voice in some scenarios, but TCP is safer for general server use.

In the tunnel setup, specify a port count of 1. This tells Playit.gg to forward just a single port to your local server, simplifying the connection and reducing complexity for your clients.

7. Set your local port to the end string of numbers from your server
8. If you’re using both servers, repeat steps 5–7 with the other server’s IP

Identify the port number your server client is listening on — usually shown at the end of your IP or in the client settings. Enter this number as the local port in Playit.gg, so external traffic is routed correctly to your server.

If you’re running multiple server clients, repeat the tunnel setup for each one. Each server should have its own TCP tunnel and unique local port to avoid conflicts and ensure both are accessible externally.

If you finished all the provided steps your server should work. If you have any question or issues, reach out to us or use the Doppel Banana Forum.
